After reviewing the latest advertisements by Samaritans of Singapore, not only was I shocked but completely astonished with how they highlighted such a terrible subject of depression in a light-hearted way. The advertisements that were shown feature both a positive and a negative message in which is revealed through when the advertisement is inverted.
The advertisement’s tagline is: “The signs are there if you read them” in which I believe as a designer is completely and utterly true. When reading into signs such as advertisements you look over something again and again until you have a clear understanding of what it’s intending to do. The clear messages that they are trying to portray are much more subtle than existing ad’s within this field in which makes more of an impact – however in this instance this makes a greater impact than the existing style of advertisements offered within the industry.
